Mancrush of the day: Mark Buehrle

Congrats to Mark Buehrle (yes i just googled that to check the spelling)on throwing a perfect game! 116 pitches, 6 Ks, and total domination. Weren't us nerds discussing how special a no-no is? Well a perfect game is something beyond that...Buehrle (I really hate typing that) threw the first perfect game in 5 years and the 16th ever in modern baseball. That must have been something special to watch...too bad I was stuck at work.

  1. David Cone's legacy continues to lose some luster. He did get a power-up for being the only baseball player to testify at a supreme court justice confirmation hearing.

  2. Of the 18 perfect games that have been thrown in the history of the game, 9 of them have occurred since 1981. What's up with that? Do starting pitchers today get more rest because of the larger rotations? Or does the opposing team smell it and want to be part of history too?
