In Your Face Thailand

Snap! 110th ranked golfer Y.E. Yang came from two strokes back to beat Tiger on the final day of the PGA championship. Yet a another moral victory for Korea over Thailand...well over half Thailand...and just the southern part of Korea. I doubt I was alone in assuming that Tiger with a Sunday lead was money in the bank, but it just didn't work out. He looked and felt like a player slugging it out and was unable to call up that magic that seems to make those birdie puts always fall. I guess it qualifies as choking, but it probably would be a stretch to say that Tiger has lost his ability to close; I mean 15/16 is still quite hella. I'm sure that Mr. Woods is pissed about this year: no major titles, missing the cut in England, and losing the PGA on the last day. But on the whole, money-wise and total wins-wise, he still had a great year. The funny thing is that a Tiger Woods loss at a major is still about Tiger and not about the guy who won. Which may be unfair except that usually a Tiger Vanquisher fails to win another tournament for long time if at all. I guess we'll have to see what Yang's got.

"Both teams played hard...goodnight and godbless."
