It must suck to be ... The New York Mets

Johan Santana will miss his next start due to pain in his pitching elbow. Apparently he has been avoiding pitching much between starts for a while and Mets management is rightfully concerned. Concerned enough that they are treating the looming elbow surgery as an inevitability. They have $136,000,000 payroll (second only to the yanks) and they have 11 players on the disabled list: including David Wright, Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes, Carlos Delgado, J.J. Putz, John Maine, and now potentially Johan Santana of all things. They are 14 games behind in the wild card race and are basically cashed in once again. Fair or not there is talk of dismantling the team again. Man it must suck to be the Mets.

"Both teams played hard...goodnight and godbless."
