If the Vick Don't Stick You Must Acquit
Michael Vick signs a 2 year deal with the Eagles: 1.6 mill and then an option for 5.2 mill. This is definitely a surprise given that the eagles were one of those teams that explicitly stated that they were not interested in Vick's services. I can't imagine he was signed as only as a back up as Phili is relatively secure at QB with McNabb having a resurgence and Kevin Kolb and A.J. Feely in the fold as well. The Eagles also have a heavily pass oriented offense that would sort of stress all of Vick's weaknesses, and I have never really seen anything from them reflecting any of the hybrid offenivee sets that everyone was so excited to see Vick in. There remains the possibility, however, that Vick will line up at half back for the Eagles...maybe in specific situations and almost certainly if Westbrook has trouble rehabbing. Seeing Vick as a backup QB with occasional scatback usage would be fun at least, I guess we'll see how it works out...he might do nothing at all in which case the Eagles could just let him go.
"Both teams played hard...goodnight and godbless."
