FYI: It remains very illegal to accidentally shoot yourself.
Plaxico Burress (best first name in sports) pleaded guilty to one count of "attempted criminal possession of a weapon;" which seems kind of weird since he definitely succeeded in criminally possessing said weapon, but I'm no fancy big city lawyer or anything. His current sentence will keep him in jail for 2 years and leave him 2 years of supervised release. Apparently with good behavior he could be released at 20 months at the earliest, making him available to the NFL in spring 2011 (match day baby!) at the earliest. This is kind of a big deal...I mean by the next time he can play an NFL game he will be 34 and certainly declining hella. Basically by accidentally shooting himself he got the same sentence as a guy that bank-rolled a multi-state dog killing bonanza, 30 times the jail sentence of Donte Stallworth who actually KILLED SOMEONE while drunk, and wasted what was likely to be the last really productive years of his career. Sux for Plax, we all knew he didn't have the greatest hands but this fumble was ridiculous.
"Both teams played hard...goodnight and godbless."
