The epic battle which began at the collegiate level continues at the professional level with Adam Morrison drawing first blood. Morrison did exactly what was needed throughout the playoffs to help the Lakers earn their 15th NBA championship - he donned a suit and took his rightful place on the inactive list, reducing the team's exposure to both his bad looks and his bad game.
Though Redick received more of the spotlight as he was getting scored on by some of the best basketball players in the world, Morrison was the one who embraced the team-first concept and in so doing earned his first ring and the right to participate in Wednesday's privately funded championship parade in Los Angeles.
To make the rematch of Adam vs. JJ as enticing as the original bout, Redick will have to grow as a player, grow like Adam Morrison's hair. He also needs to not be ridiculously gay.
As a fan, I cannot wait for Round 2. Until next year...
Seriously though, I would trade Morrison for Redick in a heartbeat and think Morrison deserves consideration, along with Kwame Brown and Michael Olowokandi, for the title of "Worst Draft Pick Of Our Generation." While Morrison has been playing from behind as a 3rd pick rather than a number 1 pick, his body of work has been ever-growing.
dude how does john b get such a commandingly large font. it really makes me pay more attention to his analysis.
ReplyDeleteserially though very good points and photo, i almost lol'ed in a meeting at work (still ongoing, yes i have meetings at 1130pm, weak).
i have so many thoughts about adam morrison and his social status on the lake show, suffice to say he did not seem to integrate like shanWOW. in fact it could be noted that he frequently celebrated positive game developments by himself, which is both funny and weirdly uncomfortable/depressing.
redick obviously needs to go to utah and join his soul brother kyle Kutcher, they can push each other to unparalleled levels of spotty 3-point shooting and slow white guy defense performance, plus share hair product tips.
yep almost killed a whole meeting with that comment, awesome.
sorry dude i had to knock your font down to size
ReplyDeleteHah my bad... I used the "normal" size font and was falling asleep as I finished the post, so I just posted without previewing first. Didn't realize it was excessively large
