Not sure I get this one. Jefferson is a classic overrated scoring-only player, according to other sporting nerds:

http://www.wagesofwins.com/Bucks310809.html
And the Almighty Hollinger has him at 15.5 PER, same as Trevor (no longer Traveler) Athreeza.
Now granted the Wages of Wins guy also says Danny Granger was a below average player even in 08/09, so...big grain of salt to all this stuff.
But since I haven't seen him play much this is all I got.
Chuck I leave it to you to add an appropriate South Park reference in the comments, building on the title of the post.
"Yes I will, Mr. Jefferson, you're so awesome, Mr. Jefferson."
ReplyDeleteWhile riding the "choo choo train" to San Antone, one has to wonder what Mr. Jefferson's arrival means for ye olde spurs of GPop. Surely, Mr. Jefferson (who has a beautiful voice) doesn't fit the mold of typical supporting cast on the club (Bonners in the butt, Aged Michael Finleys, O-boy-obertos, Bruce "cheap shot" bowen, etc). Will he (like every other player on the team) be Tim Duncan's bitch and shut up and listen to instructions from Master Coach Pop, will he rebel, or will he be irrelevant.
I suppose for more answers, one will have to ask whether Mr. Jefferson has, "been up, my, wishing tree..."
HEEE HEE SHAMON GET THE BEAT ON!!!
I mean no one really likes jefferson, since he is as Ben points out nothing but 20 ppg. But as far as value goes trade is in the spurs favor. Especially since the Pistons will buy out oberto and i bet he will go back to the spurs. jefferson will play his natural position at 3 guard and give the spurs, a team that has been offensively stagnant at times, another scoring threat and a certain upgrade over finley. If the big three are healthy they will be legit ballaz.
ReplyDeleteThere's sad news from across the street from my lab, in the UCLA hospital, that the real-life inspiration for Mr. Jefferson has died at the age of 50. We will miss you, Michael!
